Tony D'Aveni

Tony D'Aveni is a Boston based jazz trumpet player / teacher who studied jazz at University of North Texas (formally NTSU) in the early '80s. He has received two National Endowments for the Arts study Grants to study with John McNeil ('94) and Jerry Bergonzi ('95). He has also studied with David Liebman('14), Randy Brecker ('15), Tim Hagans ('14),Hal Crook, Carmine Caruso, Bobby Shew, Laurie Frink, Steven Emery and Don Jacoby. Tony has played and/or recorded with Hal Crook, George Garzone, Danilo Perez, Art Farmer, Jeri  Allen, Donny McCaslin, John Medeski, Steve Johns, John Blake, Bobby Shew, Rufus Reid, Artie Shaw Big Band, Al Vizzutti, Rob McConnel, Phil Wilson, Med Flory, Billy Pierce, Bob  Moses,  Rebecca Parris, Jimmy Dorsey Big Band, and Herb Pomeroy. He has recorded four CDs as a leader "Home at Last", "Winter Wonderland", "Hip Displacement", and "Broken Hip" and is the author of a series of five books published by Charles Colon - "Jazz Trumpet Technique: Volumes 1- 5". Mr. D'Aveni is available for performance opportunities including: Jazz Orchestra, Small Group Jazz, Jazz Ensemble, Residencies, Master Classes and Clinics for any age or group.
